Upholding to a statement by Naval Ravikant that “Pride is the enemy of learning.”
This captures the importance of learning: when we think we already know, or when our ego gets in the way, we stop being open to new ideas, feedback, or admitting we’re wrong.
Wanting to be superior overrides your judgement. At every instance when you’re declining an insight you’re stealing yourself from an opportunity to improvement.
Thinking that you know certain things which most of the people don’t care to pay attention to or live by it and listening that same from someone so unexpected making you think was it that basic and self doubting it in the form of a prejudice person is something which can make you stumble in life.
Having a perspective is great but having a perception open-mindedly that someone trying to share their knowledge doesn’t make you less knowledgeable but it also helps boost yours is important.
The overall point is that every person should thrive on learning new things from new people irrespective of the age because, “True growth begins the moment we allow ourselves to be wrong- without shame but with the courage to evolve.”
